Meeting Transcriptions for Who?
There are a number of great services out there with Meeting Transcription services. Many based software meeting systems now do this out of the box.
This is great.
But apart from compliance, who is reading them?
I have tried over the years to watch/listen to the recording of a meeting I couldn’t attend, and I’ve never been able to do it. Partway through, I tune out and go back to what I’m doing. But if I were there in the meeting, able to contribute to the conversation, I would have a different view because I would be a part of it, in the moment.
When I try to think of the “Perfect” kind of Meeting Transcription, I think that I would make it useful to me, and I think of these things.
- Right after the meeting, an email comes to my inbox with the overall summary linked to the full transcription.
- If other systems were discussed as part of the meeting (i.e., ticket tracking), I want those items linked in the transcription so I can reference them immediately.
- At the end of the mail, I would want to see Actions for whom, with tasks already created for us (either in our mail client or whatever system you use).
- Lastly, and this is much more of an AI Heuristic than anything else, I want to see how we scored the meeting…
