Summer of Leadership

Summer is the perfect time to become a better leader.

It’s a time to reflect and think about what matters to you and your team, try out new ideas and tactics to see which ones stick, and set the tone for what you want the team to be.

Why Summer?

Presumably, not everyone on your team is going to be there, and this can make trying out changes with a smaller group easier to implement as mini-experiments and gauge feedback from there. You might have some people on your team resistant to change, and this is a great way to try out new things.

Now, where to start with your Summer of Leadership?

Reading.

Here are some articles I’ve written over the past little while on Leadership (with some specific focuses on technology and software) to help get you going.

Your Team always needs a Leader

How to Lead Good Times — Because there is always room for improvement.

How to Lead in Bad Times — Because your team will need you most.

Finding Your Leadership Style

Choose Your Leadership — Yours to figure out, don’t get caged in.

Your Non-Leadership Style — You might find your style fits best.
